Traditional/classical Hatha approach to yoga is suitable for all ages, abilities, first time students as well as the experienced practitioner. Classical yoga is not about what you can do. Rather, identifying your limitations (and we all have them) then learning how to work with your body and breath to reduce physical stress and calm the mind. It is as much mental as physical. The mental aspect is the hard part. But this is why anyone can practice and benefit. To register for class, click here.
Sam's classes require a 6 consecutive week commitment. Drop ins welcome.

Yin yoga is designed to stretch the connective tissue of the body. Connective tissue has little blood flow and is collagen dense, therefore it takes slow action to stretch it. Yin yoga holds a pose for 2-7 minutes encouraging length and increasing flexibility to the structure and mechanics of the body. Yin yoga is calming to the mind, while gently opening the tissues for a FULL stretch! Excellent for athletes and for bodies that have lost their elasticity due to age, injury, childbirth or any other reason! Classes may incorporate: foam rollers, squish balls, Feldenkrais, Alexander technique and other forms of movement appropriate to the needs of the class. This class is refreshing and restorative for the body and mind! |
