Deep Stretch with Ann Bartlett
Saturday 11:30
Yin yoga is designed to stretch the connective tissue of the body. Connective tissue has little blood flow and is collagen dense, therefore it takes slow action to stretch it. Yin yoga holds a pose for 2-7 minutes encouraging length and increasing flexibility to the structure and mechanics of the body. Yin yoga is calming to the mind, while gently opening the tissues for a FULL stretch!
Excellent for athletes and for bodies that have lost their elasticity due to age, injury, childbirth or any other reason! Classes may incorporate: foam rollers, squish balls, Feldenkrais, Alexander technique and other forms of movement appropriate to the needs of the class. This class is refreshing and restorative for the body and mind!
Infant Massage
For newborn to precrawlers
Infant massage teaches the techniques to soothe and comfort your baby, promoting relaxation in you and your child while reducing stress for everyone. Infant massage helps develop the skills to create healthy bonds, helping your baby to feel secure and become more self confident. We offer two classes:
Infant Massage for Parents
Offered to both mothers and fathers, these classes teach relaxation techniques for both babies and parents. Topics covered include the various massage strokes, bonding, understanding why a baby cries and learning how to read your baby’s body language. This class will also help develop a peer support group of other parents with young children.
Building Blocks for Dads
Children benefit immensely from affectionate interaction with both parents. A nurturing father’s behavior is more often associated with affection and praise and it acquires more reward value. In a new baby’s life father’s are vitally important! We have seen the importance of the father-baby relationship and wanted to offer a class that allows a father’s relationship to grow and become nurturing. This class will help Dads learn how to relax and respond tho their baby, understand how to read their baby’s cues and explore the use of touch to facilitate bonding. This class also offer fathers a chance to have their own peer support group and bond with other fathers and their babies.
Both classes are limited to 5 parents and their babies. Classes are 1 hour sessions for 4 weeks. Parents need to bring a blanket to lay your baby upon, food for baby and diaper change.
Pricing:
$100.00/ baby and parent for all 4 weeks.
